Migration guide

Preparing for the SearchEgg transition

This guide helps existing customers review their SearchEgg footprint, preserve important information, and remove the integration safely.

!
SearchEgg is no longer accepting new accounts.

Existing customers can continue using their account access during the transition. Final service and data-retention dates will be communicated directly to affected account owners.

01

Confirm account access

Make sure at least one current team member can access the email associated with your SearchEgg workspace. This account will receive service notices and migration updates.

02

Preserve the information you need

Before removing SearchEgg, make an inventory of the commands, documentation sources, and guided actions your users still depend on.

  1. 1
    Identify the workspace owner

Confirm the account email and workspace name used by your team.

  2. 2
    Inventory active experiences

Record important commands, documentation connections, onboarding flows, and custom actions.

  3. 3
    Request an account export

Contact support from the workspace owner’s email so we can verify and prepare the available account information.

i
Export availability varies by account.

Support will confirm which workspace information is available and the safest format for your team.

03

Remove the product integration

Search your production codebase for the SearchEgg embed, initialization call, and keyboard shortcut registration. Remove them in a normal tested release.

Integration checklist
□ Remove the SearchEgg script or package
□ Remove workspace initialization
□ Restore any reserved keyboard shortcuts
□ Remove SearchEgg-specific environment values
□ Test navigation, help, and onboarding flows

After deployment, test the pages where SearchEgg was available and confirm that your application no longer requests SearchEgg resources.

04

Review connected content

If your workspace connected an external documentation provider, review and revoke any SearchEgg-specific tokens or permissions from that provider’s administration settings.

Documentation

Preserve the source content and confirm it remains available through your primary help center.

Custom actions

Document any product functions that were triggered from SearchEgg commands.

Analytics

Save any search insights your product or support teams still need for reference.

05

Choose the right replacement

Your replacement does not need to reproduce every SearchEgg capability. Prioritize the jobs that matter most to your users.
